Business consultants discussing strategy at a whiteboard in a Manchester office

Business consulting for companies stuck between where they are and where the numbers say they should be

Most firms don't need more advice. They need someone who will sit inside the problem with them, find the three things that actually matter, and help them fix those first. That's what we do from our base in Manchester.

Book a diagnostic call

Four weeks from confusion to a clear operating plan

We follow a diagnostic-first method. No 80-page decks. No six-month "discovery phase." Here is how an engagement typically runs.

Week 1: The intake interview

We spend two half-days with your leadership team. Not in a boardroom with slides, but walking through your actual operations: warehouse floor, sales bullpen, finance spreadsheets, customer support queue. We record where time leaks out and where decisions stall.

Week 2: Data mapping

We pull your last 18 months of financial and operational data into a single model. Revenue per employee, cost of acquisition by channel, margin by product line, staff turnover rate. The numbers usually tell a different story than the one management believes.

Week 3: Friction report

You receive a short document, rarely more than 12 pages, listing the specific friction points we found. Each one includes a cost estimate: what it is costing you per quarter to leave it unfixed. We rank them by impact, not by how impressive they sound.

Week 4: Action blueprint

We present a 90-day action plan with owners, deadlines, and measurable targets. If you want us to stay and help execute, we can. If you prefer to run it internally, the blueprint is designed for that too.

What we actually do

We focus on five areas where mid-market firms between £2m and £40m revenue most often lose money or momentum.

Revenue operations

Your sales team closes deals, but the pipeline leaks between marketing handoff and contract signature. We map the full revenue cycle, find where prospects drop off, and redesign the handoff points. Typical result: 15–25% shorter sales cycles within one quarter.

Leadership restructuring

Founders who built the company to £5m often struggle at £15m because the org chart hasn't changed. We help you design a management layer that lets you stop being the bottleneck. This usually involves creating two or three roles that don't exist yet.

Margin improvement

Revenue looks healthy, but net margin sits at 4% when your sector benchmark is 12%. We trace cost through every department, identify the two or three line items eating profit, and propose specific cuts or renegotiations. No across-the-board austerity.

Operational systems

Spreadsheets, Slack messages, and someone's memory are not a system. We help you pick and implement the right operational tools, whether that is an ERP, a project management platform, or a simple shared dashboard, and train your team until the old habits are gone.

Growth planning

Expanding into a new geography, launching a second product line, or acquiring a competitor all carry risk that generic forecasts won't capture. We build scenario models with real numbers from your business so you can see the downside before you commit capital.

Based in Manchester, working wherever the problem is

We started in 2018 with a simple premise: most consulting firms over-diagnose and under-deliver. A company paying £800 a day deserves more than a recycled framework with their logo pasted on the cover slide.

Our team of six consultants has backgrounds in manufacturing operations, SaaS finance, supply chain logistics, and retail management. Nobody on the team came straight from a consulting graduate scheme. Everyone built or ran something before joining.

That shapes how we work. We care about whether the warehouse supervisor can actually follow the new process, not just whether it looks elegant on paper.

Questions we hear often

A four-week diagnostic runs between £8,000 and £14,000 depending on company size and complexity. Ongoing execution support is priced per day at £850. We don't do retainers or monthly subscriptions because they incentivise us to stay longer than necessary.
Rarely. Our methods are designed for companies that already have revenue, customers, and operational history to analyse. If you are pre-revenue, a mentor or accelerator programme will serve you better than we can at this stage.
Manufacturing (food, textiles, precision engineering), B2B SaaS, third-party logistics, professional services (law firms, accountancy practices), and multi-site retail. The operational principles transfer well across sectors; the details differ, which is why we spend week one inside your specific operation.
Yes. We offer a one-day strategy review for £1,800. You send us your business plan, latest management accounts, and org chart in advance. We spend a full day with your leadership team and deliver written feedback within 48 hours. It is a good way to test whether our approach suits your culture before committing to a longer engagement.
About 91% of clients ask us to stay for a second phase. That second phase is usually narrower: implementing a specific system, coaching a newly promoted manager, or running a margin improvement sprint on one product line. We scope and price each phase independently so you are never locked in.
